Thoughts That Fly
Lyrics
I have some thoughts and I don't know why
My mind takes wing and starts to fly
Over buildings tall and trees
To places that I'd rather be
I watch the world as I soar on by
Businesspeople with their work-torn faces
Stumbling about all on the sly
On their so-called "important chases"
Why can't we just leave society?
With all its troubles, strains and toils?
Reconvene with natural things
Plant our feet deep in the soil
I alight as a bird on an aerial
And from this vantage, I can see
Commuter town in its daytime slumber
So far so detached from the thoughts of the world
I run as a fox through the empty streets
And think to myself "this is the life"
I am a canary upon a window box
And my songs are the ones so detached from the world
Why can't we just leave society?
With all its troubles, strains and toils?
Reconvene with natural things
Plant our feet deep in the soil
Why can't we just leave society?
With all its troubles, strains and toils?
Reconvene with natural things
Plant our feet deep in the soil
