African Day
Lyrics
Wake up in the morning I was feeling kind a cold so I decided that I go and get some heat
Chopping up the wood so I can
take it home with me so I can get the fire started for my tea
Grinding up the corn to make some
Flour for the bread because it is the time to get something to eat
Taking out the laundry to the river flowing by It's always nice to meet some friends do it with me chit chat with the ladies sharing gossip of the town, it's so amazing what each single day can bring
After all is clean we all are walking back to town and all the ladies and me we begin to sing
And I say stop
Amaqababaqabimbhola
Amaqababaqabimbhola
Amaqababaqabimbhola
Going to the garden I will pick up what I need preparing lunch for all my family and friends. Sweet potatoes, cabbage, and tomatoes that would do, to feed the hungry mouths and it smells really good
After we are fed and satisfied with what we had I'm going out to chill under my favourite tree, listening to the birds is really
Taking me away it's so inspiring it helps me write my songs
Suddenly I realize, I almost lost the time, so I am rushing back because it's getting dark
Got to pluck the chicken to prepare a little dish, so no one is hungry before getting into bed. Reading bed time stories to the
little ones around is ending up this day for me it's getting late
And I say Stop
Amaqababaqabimbhola
Amaqababaqabimbhola Amaqababaqabimbhola
