Commander In Chief?
I think that this song cannot be limited to just President Donald Trump. This can be taken in a very broader perspective as well. In my opinion, this could be referring to all governments and leaders all over the world. No country in the world was able to deal with the pandemic as well as they should have, no matter how well developed they are. So I think it would be better to take this song with regards to all politicians and leaders as a whole.
When Demi Lovato wants to get a point across, she definitely does it in style. Commander in Chief is Demi's way of addressing the current president of the United States, President Donald Trump. She has used this song as an opportunity to talk about against Trump's poor policies with regards to the Covid 19 pandemic, the black lives matter movement, the California Wildfires, and many other problems. This is one of the rare times when Demi has openly expressed her political views, and she later took to Instagram to clap back at the people who believed she didn't have the right to do so.
