Winter Hymn
Lyrics
Stand of trees outside my window
Branches been stripped bare and can't contend
With the pitch pine so tall and majestic
My hope it can defend
First snow falls and brings an invitation
Deepening quiet descends
The river murmurs in some long forgotten language
Only the stones still comprehend
Even though I see the signs and know you're coming
I hope somehow to change the tune
Long dark days I'd rather not remember
Stealing my hope away
Don't take your light from me it's still so young in the afternoon
So soon
