This song is about a father who's life is being changed by the birth of his son(s). at night..."I come by just to look at you" He is resolving to look at the world in a different way for their sakes and at the same time expressing hope that they come to see the world in "color" not black and white. He is also expressing gratitude for this new outlook on life - that there is "color" " Sometimes I see a narrow flash of light. I look at you and you show me the way." I can relate to these feelings - having kids will change your view of the world!
