Smoke Gets In Your Eyes is a song about the fleeting and blinding nature of love. People may warn you while you are in it and laugh at you when you're out of it, but that doesn't change the fact that when one is in love's passionate grip, one is oblivious to the reality of its coming and going. We are all put on this earth for a short period of time and for a special purpose. People will be watching our successes and failures.
