With some people, they have this tendency to fall out of reality and get stuck into a fantasy world, which may seem perfect, but eventually starts falling apart, because they've been away from the real world for too long. "Well you built up a world of magic, because your real life is tragic" this is the fantasy world that people create and escape to, because of the tragedies in their life that they can't handle. "Go get your shovel and we'll dig a deep hole to bury the castle, bury the castle" implies that it's okay to step out into reality, and bury away the fantasy world, because the truth lies in the real world, which is where you should be... Most of the time.

Turning to partying and alcohol to forget any miseries in life that don't need any attention, but to run away from them. She knows that partying and alcohol numbs the pain, so she can't get hurt. "I'm gonna fly like a bird through the night, feel my tears as they dry" suggest that she's going non- stop with intoxicating herself so she can feel like she's flying, which can seem like the greatest feeling in the world, and while she's doing this, her tears will dry up; and the hurt that she's feeling will be temporarily gone. "And I'm holding on for dear life, won't look down won't open my eyes" says that when she's impaired from drinking, she doesn't want to let that go and open her eyes to witness her reality, which may seem unbearable and intolerable.

Ways to Go cover Ways to Go by Grouplove

From watching Grouplove's documentary, this song shows the beginning of their band and the making of Grouplove. The members in the band "didn't ask for this" they never meant to meet up with each other and become a famous band. "Been working like a dog" suggests their own personal lives that they were living before their band. They weren't rich, and they were working hard to make ends meet. "I didn't know my name" suggests their findings of who they really are, and what they came to be, which is Grouplove. They still got a little bit longer and a ways to go with the band, music, and life.
