Poetry
Lyrics
You used to write me poetry
And I knew that it was all for me
It made me feel special
And warm like spring
I was living in a leaky flat
You would blow into to my senses like a vision
Of a reckless tattered sage that I could catch
We were living in the central scene
So many people that were wrong for me
And when I saw you right away I knew
My future was with you
While the rain poured down my housemate played piano
Your footsteps climbing up my stairs like heartbeats, drumming
You d written salty words on napkins from your travels
And hid them in my pillows and my pockets and in my lockets
Ahhh
You used to write me poetry
And I knew that it was all for me
It made me feel special
And warm like spring
Love is like a flower to the bees
It needs sugar it needs to breathe
And even if you see the perfect rose
You always need to weed
Now we see how many years have passed
Day to day can take the sparks away and
I believe our song can be
Stronger if we play
Little wars wars are not the rhythm to tomorrow
It's easy to dust off your rusty soldiers, colder
We could stoke the fire with sandalwood and bourbon
And get back to those rainy loving long days where we d slip away...
You used to write me poetry
And I knew that it was all for me
It made me feel special
And warm like spring
You used to write me poetry
And I knew that it was all for me
It made me feel special
And warm like spring
You used to write me poetry
And I knew that it was all for me
It made me feel special
And warm like spring
I was living in a leaky flat
You would blow into to my senses like a vision
Of a reckless tattered sage that I could catch
