personally, this reminds me of my mother- she's too busy being this 'perfect' woman and forgets about her kids whilst trying to keep everything in order, when my step-dad comes home, she puts on her makeup and dresses, and perfumes. cooks and cleans for him whilst he lounges, her kids never get attention 'there are never toys that's scattered everywhere', she's always working hard for him, but sadly. He got another wife. the other woman will never have his love to keep. what confuses me is- why is she still with him?
The Other Woman
Lyrics
The other woman has time to manicure her nails
The other woman is perfect where her rival fails
And she's never seen with pin curls in her hair anywhere
The other woman enchants her clothes with French perfume
The other woman keeps fresh cut flowers in each room
And there are never toys that's scattered everywhere
And when her old man comes to call
He finds her waiting like a lonesome queen
'Cause to be by her side
It's such a change from old routine
Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh
The other woman will always cry herself to sleep
The other woman will never have his love to keep
And as the years go by, the other woman will spend her life alone
Alone
Oh, oh, oh, oh
Baby, do, do
Ah, ah, ah, ah
Ah, ah
Oh, oh, oh
Alone

What is the Meaning of The Other Woman
?
When I heard Lana's voice I was seeing this whole film noir scene in front of eyes. The loneliness of the third person makes me shiver... This woman loves her man so much that she's willing to dress herself up and be all pretty and things. By the way, the man is a total jerk. He probably has wife & kids somewhere also waiting for him, but he chose another woman to satisfy his selfish sexual desire. In this case, both woman feel sad and no one wins.
A terribly song ballad about the unseen side of a person. The other woman doesn't refer to a physical someone, it refers to the other woman in each woman. The side nobody sees behind all the facade. There is a side of her that shows her to be glamorous and perfect, and without a speck of dirt on her. Her husband comes home and greets her with love because he can't seem to find someone as remarkable as her. But deep down inside she feels lonely and she's not happy in the slightest. I remember someone saying this could be about Marylin Monroe.. maybe, who knows. Right now I am thinking about another music video, the one of Sam Smith of "I'm not the only one" in which Dianna Agron (who genuinely has a very classical, 50's face) leads this sort of life where she looks pristine, with a beautiful dress on and keeping an equally lovely house, but deep down inside she feels horrible and unloved.
