Who is Marvin Gaye?
Marvin Pentz Gay Jr. was a singer, songwriter and musician born on April 2, 1939 in Washington, DC. He died in 1984 in Los Angeles when his father fatally hot him at their home. Gaye is known for having helped form and spread the Motown sound of the 1960s. He was a session musician who later became a solo artist with hits such as “How Sweet It Is (To Be Loved By You)” and “I Heard It Through the Grapevine.” Over his career, Gaye released 25 studio albums plus live recordings and compilation albums. These include three albums released after his death.
