Who is John Holt?
John Holt was a Jamaican reggae singer and songwriter. Holt initially scored a series of hits in the 60s with rocksteady group The Paragons. After the group's break-up in 1970 he focused on his solo career. He had significant commercial success as a solo artist throughout the 70s and 80s. Holt's Stick By Me album was the highest selling Jamaican record released in 1972. His musical style was influential in the development of lovers rock.
