Who is Florence + the Machine?
Florence + the Machine was created in London by singer/songwriter Florence Mary Leontine Welch. Known for her blend of Baroque, soul and pop, Florence released her debut album in 2008. Under the Moshi Moshi label and with a rotating stock of backup musicians, the singer released another album in 2008 that included four hit singles on the UK’s Top 40 and brought her fame in the US. In 2011, her second album also saw favorable results. After a vocal injury and a nervous breakdown in 2011, it was 2015 before Florence + the Machine released another album that become a hit in the US and the UK.
