Who is alt-J?

The English rock group Δ (spoken out loud as “alt J”) came together in 2007 in Leeds, England. Its members are Joe Newman, Thom Green, Gus Unger-Hamilton and Cameron Knight. Their debut album, An Awesome Wave, won the British Mercury Prize in 2012. The group’s second album, This Is All Yours (2014), reached the top spot on the UK album charts. This Is All Yours included the singles “Every Other Freckle,” “Left Hand Free” and “Hunger of the Pine.” The album was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Alternative Music Album.
