Who is Shawn Mendes?
Shawn Peter Raul Mendes is a Canadian singer and songwriter born on August 8, 1998 in Toronto, Ontario. He first earned attention in 2013 with short videos of song covers posted on Vine and a year later signed with Island Records. His first single, “Life of the Party,” was released in June 2014. Mendes’ full-length album, Handwritten, was released in April 2015 and debuted on the top spot on the Billboard 200. In 2014 and 2015, he was named on Time magazine’s list of 25 Most Influential Teens. A world tour hitting North America and Europe began in March 2016.
