Who is Guns N’ Roses?
Standing apart from the bubblegum and electric pop of the 80s is Guns N' Roses. A Los Angeles based group that formed in 1985 and included Axl Rose, Slash, Izzy Stradlin, Duff McKagan, and Steven Adler. Part of the "big hair" and big sound groups that began as a counterpoint to the dance music that filled the airwaves, the group had a completely unique sound in the world of hard rock. Unusual vocals, tender lyrics, and classic guitar riffs created a near-instant sensation. However fresh and exciting their sound, the band itself did not remain intact in its original lineup, and today it is lead singer Axl Rose who remains the face of this once potent band.
