Who is Kool Moe Dee?
Kool Moe Dee, aka Mohandes Dewese, was born in 1963. After hitting the scene with DJ Easy Lee and Special K as the Treacherous Three, which lasted into the mid 1980s, Kool took a break to earn a communications degree at SUNY before hiring 17-year-old producer Teddy Riley for his solo underground debut. The artist signed with Jive Records in 1986 and released his self-titled album the same year. Kool’s second album went platinum, and his third gold, which also landed him as the first rapper that performed at the Grammys. Kool Moe Dee released his final album in 1994, Interlude.
